Mindless Nonsense

Didn't make it to campus until late today. I only made it to my 2 o'clock class, but that was ok, I guess. It's not like I had anything due in my first class anyway. I think I'm suppose to have some sort of paper written for tomorrow, but honestly it's probably not gonna get done until then. Can it be December now?

Wow, looking back at this semester, I haven't really been updating this thing at all. But then again, I haven't had anything I've really wanted to talk about. I mean, I can just simply state the the year of 2009 has sucked overall and the screen on my laptop is temperamental so I need to call the hp ppl and see if they can fix it without me having to pay for it, but other than that I really don't have anything much to talk about.

I'm still trying to figure out what possessed me to take this Latino Literature class, other than the fact that its necessary for a minor. I mean, this class is so...I dunno. Thing is its not really the class but Lit in general. Nothin against it or anything, I absolutely love reading but never really was fond of Lit classes because for the most part the teachers/professors picked works that they thought would provoke something in the class simply because it did so for them. Unfortunately, it has never worked for me. But I do enjoy this class far more than any other I've had, though it's more than likely the professor's personality that's the reason for that.

I'm sorry, but seriously?

You've refused to acknowledge my existence since I turned you down in middle school, and now you want to befriend me? Just last week you blatantly ignored me as you talked to the people I happened to be sitting with.

One more test and a quiz to go for this week and then I get to...

study for another test next week. sigh oh well.

Ok, I know I said I wasn’t gonna drop of the face of the lj world again, but this semester has been none stop work. Which wouldn’t really piss me off if it weren’t all pretty much busy work. Most of it is complete bs and I have to wonder why do you make us do homework if you’re a) not gonna take it up, or b) not gonna actually grade it? It’s a waste of my time when I could actually be studying for your class instead of trying to throw together the random crap you’ve asked for, stuff that usually has nothing to do with the actual lessons or chapters or sometimes the course. I need a break; next week can’t get here fast enough.

On a different note, tomorrow is my b'day!

It's been forever since I've updated. I think this is the longest hiatus I've ever had in posts. But I dunno, I really didn't have much to say. Just kinda did the same thing everyday this summer, finally got to relax. Nothing exciting about that to anyone but me. But school has started back and this is my last semester as an undergrad student. Just gotta finish up my 2 minors and then I'll be good to go. Couldn't happen soon enough, cuz i hafta say there are entirely too many freshmen on campus. And everyone I know comments about how they're really over all these ppl being on campus, esp. when we know that at least half of them aren't gonna go to class, they're just takin up space. Annoying, but its a fact of college life. Anyways, on a more satisfied note, this semester is looking promising. I have interesting classes and even more interesting teachers. Always a good combination. Hopefully, I'll update more this semester than I did this summer, but I'm not making any promises. The fact that I actually update still amazes me.

I just did something I didn't think I'd ever have to do. I mean no one reads my journal really, so I figured that I wouldn't have to modify any of my settings for stuff like comments, but well apparently I was wrong. Now comments can only be made by non-anonymous users. I'm getting tired of having to delete stupid stuff.

Both of my classes for summer term I have been canceled. This is interesting to me, because in my entire college career, this has never happened. Of course, these two classes are not in anyway necessary for me to graduate (I've already completed my major, and my minors will be done in the fall)and I was gonna drop one of them anyway because I really only wanted to take one class that term but I hadn't decided on which one to drop. Guess that decision was made for me, huh? I wonder—should I take this as a sign to take a break? Not that I really believe in taking things as a sign, but there's a first time for everything. Besides, I honestly haven't taken a break since I started school in 2005. It's been year round classes for 4 years. Maybe this is God's way of telling me to slow down, maybe it's just a coincidence. Maybe I just chose the wrong classes. Basically, it boils down to one question: Should I try to take something else this summer?

Yeah, I have absolutely no idea why I woke up so early, considering I went to bed at 11. Guess it's just one of those days.

Anyway, just been sorta bouncin around the web, confirming that there really is nothing to do on the internet anymore. Never been one to just surf the net all day, kinda gets boring quick, fast, and in a hurry. And with boredom comes a wandering mind, mine which decided to reflect on this semester that is rapidly coming to a close. It's been crazy hectic, but it was fun being tested the way we were, and the day of our final presentations in 401, I think the class truly showed it's true colors. You wouldn't believe how many guitars were in the office that day, and instead of running around like headless chickens, everyone just kind of sat back and mellowed out before presenting. It was actually pretty awesome.

Of course, then almost everyone went and got completely wasted, but that’s a totally different story.

I’ve also realized that I have some really amazing friends. And that I’ve majorly opened up to ppl, well a few of them anyway. I actually have friends that can read me, which is new. I mean sure, ppl can read emotions/feelings from me, but usually only what I want them to see. annethundr05 is one of the few that sees past what I want to be seen. Sometimes it weirds me out just cuz it feels like I’m being somewhat vulnerable, but on the other hand it’s cool cuz I know that she has my back. It’s different knowing that I can give someone else the reins and not worry about being steered off track. Not that I hand them over all that often, but knowing that I can just helps me feel lighter.

And now that I have sort of babbled enough, I think I’ll go find something else to do, like maybe my presentation for Tuesday. If only I knew what it was about.

Wow, it's been forever since I even so much as thought about updating my lj. But now that I've taken the FE and 401 is officially over, I can hopefully get back to writing or something. I just haven't had time to do anything this semester really, especially after spring break. Spent most of my time either workin on 401 or being too tired to do anything else. And the most tiring thing was pretending that I wasn't exhausted. Course 401 isn't completely to blame,it's mostly this season. Spring drains me completely. Most ppl just don't get it. I mean, sure it's pretty and all but my body uses up far too much energy trying to fight off allergens and whatnot. It leaves me totally wiped out, and I honestly can't tell you how many times I've been tempted to ask annethundr05 if i could crash at her place during my lunch break, but if I do I know the chances of me making it back to my office are basically null.

Speaking of, I'm 100% sure that annethundr05 is the only reason I actually made it back to my car yesterday. For which I am grateful. Stupid allergies.

Hopefully, next week will be better, it's dead week after all. I do have a presentation and a final, but compared to last week, that'll be a breeze. Now if only I could do something about this Spring stuff.

Ha! Made to New Orleans yesterday at around 1. It was an interesting 4 and a half hour drive. All of us are dorks. Anyways, we have a ton to explore. I haven't been here in 8 years, and for my sister it's a totally new place so yeah.

Oh, saw an overly tall leprechan with a pot of gold. It was funny.

NOLA is awesome.

As of 2 o'clock today, i have officially started my spring break. Yeah buddy! And the fact that there's new Supernatural tonight just makes it that much better.

Monday? My jumpdrive tried to commit suicide. Yesterday? I beat my jumpdrive into submission.

Monday my jumpdrive decided to just stop working. Not in the the-computer-doesn't-recognize-it way, but in the it's-not-getting-any-power way. It was working just fine earlier that day, so I thought maybe it was my computer acting funny, so I tried it on a different one. Nothing. I decided I'd let it sit over night, wonder if maybe a change in temperature had effected it somehow. Tuesday morning was a no-go. Tuesday night, I took apart a jumpdrive that my brother had somehow damaged, and I got it to work. I then proceeded to beat my jumpdrive against the floor until it came apart. Now it works. lol.

I finally start back to writing for the Enkidu07 and Onyx Moonbeam Challenge, and FF.Net has gone all screwy.

So I figured I’d post my response here.

Huh. These are the first fics, of any kind, that I’ve put on lj. Hope you like ‘em.

My friends and I were already planning to go to Dragoncon, provided that my litle bro makes all A's and B's. Yeah, for some reason Creole Wonder's Mom is only ok with us going if Jr goes with us. Don't ask.

On top of that, there are like three other cons Creole Wonder wants L-annethunder and I to go to with her. So, I'm wondering if I should possibly get a job. lol. Even though, technically, I'm not allowed to have a job. Which in and of itself is hilarious, because what other 22 yr old do you know of who's father has denied them of getting a job?

Anyways, I think we've finally gotten most of the New Orleans trip hammered out. We've cut the trip in half, we're now only going for four days instead of eight. Which I'm much more agreeable to. Now we just need to finalize the hotel and mode of transportation. Have I mentioned that I hate rental car dealers? No? Well they suck. It's ridiculous how much they try to charge you if you don't know how to work the system. Absolutely ludicrous. And I don't mean doing anything illegal, just have to know which angle to come at them from.

On a completely different note, I think I've been watching too much Burn Notice. Maybe.
